Features of the 2025 Ford Explorer

A family-friendly cabin, stunning touchscreen, and optimized performance are just a few areas where the 2025 Ford Explorer shines. Read on for a closer look at the Explorer’s refined design.

6 Exceptional Features of the 2025 Ford Explorer

1. The Impressive Towing Capacity

This family-friendly SUV is ready to connect to a small boat or trailer thanks to the Class II Trailer Tow package that comes standard on every trim. This gives the new Explorer a maximum towing capacity of 5,000 pounds.

2. The Optimized Terrain Management System

Six modes allow drivers to seamlessly optimize the Explorer’s powerful performance for the road ahead. You’ll have Eco mode to help you save on gas, Sport mode for zippy performance, Normal mode for everyday driving, and Tow/Haul mode for when you’ve secured a trailer. Slippery mode improves traction. Similarly, Off Road mode adjusts performance for when you head off the beaten path.

3. The Family-Friendly Seating

Three rows of seating give seven passengers an enjoyable place to rest during an everyday commute or long road trip. In the back, you’ll find a convenient bench seat for the third row. This bench has a 50/50 split-fold. The second row comes with spacious captain’s chairs with E-Z Entry and armrests.

A 10-way power-adjustable seat allows drivers to get comfortable and avoid fatigue during long trips. The front passenger has a four-way power-adjustable seat. Both seats are heated for enhanced comfort.

4. The Versatile Cargo Space

Behind the third-row bench seat, you’ll find a cargo area measuring 16.3 cubic feet where you can secure your groceries. When you have more items to haul, it’s easy to fold down the bench and even the second-row captain’s chairs. Folding down both rows will turn your SUV into a convenient cargo hauler with 85.3 cubic feet of volume behind the first row seats.

5. The Hands-Free Driving Technology

You can step into the future of hands-free highway driving with available Ford BlueCruise. This technology is available for the ST-Line and ST. It comes standard on the Platinum with a one-year plan.

6. The New Touchscreen

The 2025 edition of the Explorer now comes with an exciting upgrade to its infotainment system. You’ll have a beautiful 13.2-inch high-resolution touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto to easily access your familiar apps. The system also has FordPass Connect with 5G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot capability.

Ford’s standard sound system is a clear six-speaker model. You can choose from two available upgrades if you prefer a richer Bang & Olufsen option. The first is a 10-speaker sound system with a subwoofer, and the second option comes with a full 14 speakers and subwoofer. All three of these options can be enjoyed with SiriusXM with 360L.
